1. Taxes should be predefined at the beginning of a tax year and you pay it off in installments so there are no surprises at the end of the year as opposed to arbitrary sums pulled form your paycheck to be used in paying taxes at the end of a year.  No surprises!
2. The IRS should in this day and age have free and simple tax submission website (regardless of income level).  We should not need to hire an accountant, buy tax software, hire a tax consultant, or otherwise wonder if we paid the right amount in taxes (I know I always feel like I paid too much).  Seriously, it’s 2010, can’t the IRS build a website a regular person could navigate and actually file their taxes using a series of uber simple forms?
3. Simplify the tax code!  If our politicians are so bogged down by lobbyists, they can’t come up with a clear and concise tax code, they should be removed from office.  Sometimes you just need to rip off the band aid, even if it’s not the popular thing to do, even if you won’t be liked for it.  I’m thinking the tax code should like something more like the 10 commandments, not the bible.

Just my two cents, but whatever.
